Violectra

Electric violin, custom-made by maker Dave Bruce Johnson / Violectra
The violin was built to match exact proportions as Germino's acoustic violin, to facilitate switching between instruments
The Violectra had its first performances in 2003 in INANNA, a production of Theatergroup ZT Hollandia, directed by Paul Koek, with libretto by Hal Hartley, music by Louis Andriessen and Cristina Zavalloni as Inanna.
SUITES OF LUX: Jacob ter Veldhuis composed a new work for electric violin and soundtrack for choreographer Nanine Linning's SUITES OF LUX. Performed by Scapino Ballet Rotterdam; music performed live on stage by Monica Germino.
Read more about the production in Scapino's press release
